Good by to the Roadsters

Post by 12bar1 »

Well the time has come to part with our roadsters. We love the bikes but with the orthopedic issues my wife has it is just a little too big for her and there are other prioraties at the moment. I will post the information and pictures on the buy / sell section in a day or two but for now here is what we have

Mine - 2004 Red R1150R Non-ABS 24,000 miles with moto lights, sargent seats, sport screen with laminar lip, tank wings, Brake LED tail light, system cases, head guards and signal minder because I can't remember to turn off my blinkers asking $6500

Hers - 2005 Black R1150R ABS 3,700 miles with Moto lights, sargent front seat, sport screen with laminar lip, tank wings, Brake LED tail light, system cases asking $8500.

If anyone is interested PM me and I will get back to you right away.

If I can sell both of them I think we are going to pick up a couple Wee Stroms just for road use and set up our KLR's a little more dirty. The other reason is I decided to chase after a dream of mine. I have been doing Triathlons for a while and have always thought about going big and taking on an Ironman. Well a few weeks ago we had a lady named Sarah Reinertsen come speak at one of our corporate meetings and I had the good fortune to take her out to dinner. She was the one that pushed me over the edge and motivated me to take on the challenge, Ironman Florida in 2010  . I won't bore you with all the details but if you are interested in learning more about Sarah check out her website http://www.alwaystri.net . I will still check in often and will probably have another BMW (a boxer motor of course) some time in the future. So this isn't good by just see ya later.

Sad to hear that you are selling the bikes, but glad to hear that you are working toward the ironman. That makes me tired just thinking about it.

Congrats on taking on the challenge of an Ironman! =D> =D> =D>

I used to do tri's but only the sprint and Olympic distance triathlons. Training for a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and a marathon run takes over your life (in a a good way!) - I just never found the time and more importantly made the commitment. Congrats to you for doing so!

Thanks to all for the kind words and encouragement, in exchange for selling the roadsters I get a new custom made GURU Tri bike with a set of ZIPP carbon fiber wheels, the whole package will only weigh about 17# :D at my age (56) I need to buy a little speed (no not that kind).
