Idle Speed Adjustment - Is it Simple DIY taks?

Post by civicblade »

My R1100r idles at ~1400rpm when warmed up.

I'm thinking of adjusting it down to the recommended 1000+150rpm range.

Do I have to adjust the left and right brass screw on th throttle pulley? Anyone with reference on how to adjust the idle speeds?

Thanks alot.

Over on the Adventure Rider site is a great page of links.

Scroll down towards the bottom and download the pdf link, TBSD. It will explain how to lower your idle. What you'll discover is that you really need a TwinMax or a home made manometer to do it correctly so that both throttle bodies stay in sync.

Forget the TwinMax, complicated French contraption that it is...
Get yourself a Morgan Carbtune. No batteries to worry about and brain dead to use....

I've made myself a balancer gauge by putting 2 glycerin filled dial style vacuum gauge side by side.
