Shock Advice Wanted
My rear shock is fading, and I would like to replace it with an Ohlins or Wilbers unit. Does it make sense to replace just the rear, or should I do both? And do I need the remote preload adjuster?

Re: Shock Advice
I am no suspension specialist (use my opinion at your own risk) however:
- I personally will swap both shocks, just for the sake of knowing they are matching pair.
- How often do you ride with pillion? When it was the last time you actually changed suspension settings? This will answer your question about the remote preload adjuster. Of course it is handy to have it ... but consider the cost of a C-spanner.
- Sure - if you have the money to burn - go for Ohlins. Wilbers are good for probably 99% of us. Of course if you want the bling factor of the Ohlins

Thanks Duke, I am riding with a pillion less often, but it does happen. I have been quoted a reasonable price for some Wilbers, but they want an extra $350 for remote preload adjuster. I have also received a not unreasonable quote for the Ohlins equivalents, but the rear comes with the remote preload adjuster, and this quote works out to less than the Wilbers with it added.

Re: Shock Advice Wanted
Thanks, I have not found anything definitive about those other makes, much less retailers/dealers for them, if you have any links to provide it would be much appreciated.
Should I just worry about the rear for now, or should I shoot for the pair?

Re: Shock Advice Wanted
WP is the dog's danglies, but costs a fair amount of $$$ (at least £££ in UK).
Hagon ... erm ... can't cut the mustard compared to WP, Ohlins and Wilbers.
Do not know anything about Bitubo.
