No, not yet but that's not their fault.
Since I was on the road and away from the internet I haven't followed-up with Corbin yet.
I'll contact them again tomorrow. I still have to send them a pic or two, therefore the ball is in my court right now.

Has anyone noticed that on the first page of this months copy (July) of the BMW-ON Corbin has an ad exclusively for the seat on the R1200R. Looks like they think a market exists out there for the seat. Maybe Sargent will have second thoughts about making a seat. I'm about to put 5K on the stock seat.

For all you guys that said Corbin has the worst customer service, I just want to give you an update.

After I sent the picture with the issue on the nose, Corbin promptly responded to my emails and said that they would rework it to make it right. Today I come home to see a notice on my door that the UPS guy was there to pick up the seat. Now, that's what I call good customer service.
If you're on the fence about a Corbin due to their reputation, I'd say go for it!
If you there's interest I can post the name and email of "my" guy (Sergio) so that you can be sure to go through him, as he's really been great to deal with. (To recap: Sergio advised me on the different options, pushed through the schedule so that I had the seat prior to my trip and is now fixing the one issue). I really have to say I have no cause for complaints. Their customer service is great and the workmanship apart from the one issue that's about to be fixed is great as well.

I have 10K on the seat and it is a little better that when it was new ---- but I'm heading to the BMW MOA National tomorrow morning and will put 5K on the seat in the next three weeks (600/700 mile days). I know I won't be able to father any more children after I get back (at this stage of the game that no longer matters) I'm just hoping I'll still be able to walk.

According to Corbin (and looking at it - it makes sense), the leather just has to be pulled a bit tighter, so it's most likely a one-off issue.

I usually don't cruise down I-85 during the commute.
For that I use Hwy 101 and Rt. 80.

What are your usual stomping grounds?

I live in Boiling Springs, work in Greenville... unfortunately 85 is unavoidable in most circumstances...

I usually commute the following route...

Route 9 -> 85 -> 290 -> Berry Shoals Road -> Abner Creek Road -> Pelham-> 85 -> 385 and then the parking garage at Liberty Square.

The bolded part is my favorite part of the trip, of course. I have family is Tryon, sooo the upstate is my stomping ground!

I have only been riding again since March, so I am still rebuiling all that I lost after my 12 year hiatus... not that I learned too much in my 2 years prior...

I'm often the one organizing these things. Group is a bit of an overstatement, as I send it out to about 15 people, but lately the turn out has been between 4-6 bikes. We ride with a diverse group of people and bikes, so the speeds are usually non-threatening. Bikes are BMW's, HD's, Duc's and a couple of "Hell's Asians" on their Honda Davidsons (ahem Honda VTX's).

I bought a Corbin seat for my '07 R12RT

Customer service, shipment, fit & finish were all great.
I also read about all the bad service clients received from Corbin, but i was completely satisfied with my purchase.

I have already ordered a Corbin seat (with color-coded glovebox backrest) for my R12R. Should arrive in a couple of weeks...
Not that i really need one - as i am quite comfy on the standard high seat. But i like to have the choice, plus the S/O may find it comfy as well.

Originally, i was going to buy a Sargent seat - but they ultimately decided not to bother with the R12R pan. Their loss, as far as i'm concerned.

Anyway, even if you don't like it - you can always sell it on e-bay and recoup some of your $$'s.

I do have one problem though. It fits very nice and snug but the seat latch won't catch. I've tried sitting on it both driver and passenger positions, leaning on it, dropping it in quickly but no luck.

I've contacted Corbin so we'll see what they suggest.

Yes, put two washers under the piece that latches and you'll be able to latch it with a little bit of force. Once you've sat on it for a while it'll click in a easy as the regualr seat.

Two comments

I've had to fiddle with both my corbins to get them to latch by placing washers in the seat or on the bikes latching points. Something that shouldnt have to be done on such an expensive piece.

second, I had the same problem with my GS seat at the nose. It just a bit of careless work on the part of the assembler.

Overall, i like their seats and would buy again, but these little issues are a bit annoying.

Just a quick follow up on the seat thing. Going to the National I put on two 850 mile days and on the way home an 850 followed by a 1250 miler so the stock seat isn't that bad. If I had a Corbin there's no telling how many miles I could sit on it.
BTW: I can still walk and all the body parts seem to be working normally (for a 65 year old guy).

We tried to screw them down all the way, but still no joy.

I'm thinking the Corbin seat has too many/or too tall of rubber bumpers on the seat pan. Not a great effort on their part.

Not a surprise.. my experience with Corbin seats has been they never quite fit right (the one on my K75S managed to rub paint off several body panels..) It would seem they could just copy BMW's seat pan.. but nope, they design their own.
