winter storage...what do i need to do???

i'm putting my bike away for the winter and would like to know what steps to take as far as
oil,battery etc.....

Check out a recent post asking for "long than winter" storage -
may not need to do all of those, but many of them aren't so complicated
that it might not be good to do them.

Might also depend on whether you'd be likely to take a ride on an occasional nice day.

I think the minimum is to run some stabilized fuel through the injectors, top off the tank, oil change and a battery tender. At least that's my plan. I spend a fair amount of time in my garage during the winter, so I check occasionally for mice and anything else that might try to nest in and around the bike....oh yeah...I also stick a rag in the exhaust tip.

I read somewhere on-line that it also needs to be stored on an oriental rug.
