You are the man!
This is the time of year in the USA when many borderline batteries will not survive the Winter layoff. I suggest you try and start your bike on the coldest day and see how it starts. You also have the age factor, that being past the 5 yr mark with good care and 2 or less with no care. "Care" being the use of a Battery Tender type charger and distilled water for the flooded cell older battery types.
The great sale price is likely temporary to create sales in our economic slowdown and/or move excess stock. Do not delay if you are anywhere near needing a new battery!!! It is the best there is for the money -and- you get the L terminals you need to connect to our bike.
Call them ASAP. I'm guessing Santa didn't give you everything you needed.
My battery does get good care. It also NEVER does short trips around town. It's 4.5 years old. I switch the charger between Amy's bike and my own every couple weeks (winter). My battery seems to be holding it's charge very well. The battery tender light goes to "green" immediately upon hook-up.
Do these batteries come fully charged? Does it make sense to buy this now (and needing to keep it charged) and maybe not needing it for another year?
I was dreaming when I wrote this, forgive me if it goes astray...
DAYEM!! I just paid Aerostich over 130 bones for the same battery yesterday OH well I live and learn. Thanks for the thinking to post the link, as it will help many here.
Thanks for the tip, Anthony!...I have been waiting on this one for awhile. My '03 has the original battery in it and has treated me fine so far!
Thanks again.
I'm new to this board and also just got a 04 r1150r. Battery is weak. Does this Odyssey PC680 fit exactly like the original? I haven't taken tank off yet to check size but i know ' I NEED A NEW BATTERY'. Just checking before I buy it. Please confirm it fits.
Thanks from Atlanta
MatteryMart is somewhat close to me, and have hard to beat prices on ALL of their batteries. The federal agency I currently work at uses BatteryMart to buy all of their replacement UPS batteries - so far that's the least exspensive place to buy them!
My original BMW gel battery died on me last fall; I was in a time pinch and didn't know about BatteryMart, but replaced it with a PC680 from Batteries Plus (I paid a lot more!!). The PC680 definitely cranks the engine much faster than the original battery did - even when the BMW battery was new. The PC680 is slightly smaller so the hold down strap will have to be addressed for the install but otherwise it's a great replacement!

Thanks for the tip, Anthony. Mine just arrived and will install it this weekend. That was a good deal and shipped quick, and just in the nick of time as my 3-year-old Westco started dying from the (relatively) cold here.
Love this board!
