Rocker arm and Tappet Replacement

Post by mlandon »

Anyone had the chance to replace rocker arm assembly or at least an adjustment tappet? Seems easy enough - I need to pull one to investigate a stripped tappet screw.

Thoughts, suggestions? Anyone have an extra tappet screw laying around?

Update - 02/15/09

Very easy to do, just remove lower carrier assemblage, then one of two detent bolts - depending on whether taking off front or rear rocker, this loosens the shaft for the rocker arm, let it slide down enough to clear the upper carrier and the shaft are rocker come off together! Now that I know how, half an hour on and off.

Sorry, no pics, wasn't that into it without heat in the garage.

Nothing to it.

One of the bolts indexes the rocker shaft. Worst case scenario is the whole cam carrier/rockers have to be removed.
