Your cost estimate for the following maintenance

I dropped my 2004 R1150R with 23,000 off at an indie for the following maintenance items to be completed. I did not get a total for the work. It's forthcoming. What is your best guess for:

Buy and install new Pilot Roads
Buy and install new Oddyssey Battery
Bleed the brakes
Throttle Body Adjustment
Valve adjustment
Fuel Filter Change
Oil/Filter Change with synthetic
Buy and install air filter

I think that's it!

FYI: I changed the tranny and final drive fluids last fall and have not ridden much since.

I pulled prices out of the air - memories of costs and difficulty for various bits and tasks I've done. (Don't be too surprised if it ends up closer to $1000.)

Those last 5 items you could do yourself in an afternoon. The fuel filter is the toughest, requiring taking off the gas tank and getting inside - a royal PITA to get filter back inside the tank without bending things.

The air filter, fuel filter and the battery replacement could potentiall "share" the labor cost, since the tank needs to come off for all of them(?)

Changing the tires isn't complex, but requires special equipment as well as a bit of muscle. Harbor Frieght is a source for the right tools, and a number of my fellow BMW club members have the set up and will gladly offer the use of it.

Too many variables to provide any kind of accurate guess...however when I had my 6,000 mile service back in 2005, which included new Metzler Z-6 tires purchased and mounted, the grand total came to $975.00. That was identical service to what you are getting minus the cost of a battery. This was at a San Francisco BMW dealer so I'm sure the labor rates were high, but again, it was almost 5 years ago so I'm sure it would be higher today. Labor at that service came to $560.

That was the last time my bike was in a shop...it gave me the incentive to do all of my own work including ABS brake bleeds and tire mounting. Bike now has over 60,000 trouble free miles.

I'd say around $850 for all that, depending on how much they get done at the same time the tank is off, and the prevailing shop labor charges.

Oops! I didn't see the "indie" part. Probably closer to $650-$700.
