Hiya, Planning a trip to Sydney; Is there anywhere where I can go look at bike gear, look at airheads or bikes, etc .... where is the BMW shop located?

Biker -

I'm in Sydney. The major BMW dealers in Sydney is Procycles. They have a large store very close to Sydney airport (the aircraft fly over the roof at 400ft). They also sell Triumph and Aprilia.
Sydney Airport is located just 7km south of the Sydney CBD.

Procycles has a 2nd store in Hornsby, which is 30km north of Sydney, and about 15km from the start of the Old Pacific Highway, which is a favourite road for bikers in Sydney's north. It was the main route north until bypassed by a freeway which leaves a well kept but very winding road to the bikers. The main railway line north goes to Hornsby and Procycles is 800m from the station. Procycles Hornsby also deals KTM Triumph and Kawasaki (dirt only I think). Both stores have good stocks of 2nd hand bikes too - you might work a deal to buy and sell back an old R80 or something.

Both shops offer test rides but Hornsby is in a less congested part of town. I don't think they would allow test rides unless you hold a NSW licence but they let me take a KTM Superduke for a 60km test loop around one of the nicest biking roads in Sydney. I ended up buying my R1200R from them.

Heading down there to visit an uncle, and thinking I might check out the bike scene there; interested in a bike museum if there is one. Not looking to ride, but interested to buy some airhead parts if there are. Also made-in-oz gear, I understand that they have some good luggage options.

MCAS is OK - good range well priced but their sales staff are not very knowledgeable. If you know what you want you will do fine there. Procycles has a good accessories and clothing shop too. Can be pricey.

Another good place to look at bike stuff is Deus ex Machina - bobbers and cruisers and a funky cafe and accessories store. Its located in Camperdown - about 2 klicks west of Central Railway station.

What part of Sydney will you be visiting? Its a big city. Icluding outer regions its sort of the same size as all of Singapore.

Like DJ, I'm in Melbourne. Airhead parts can be expensive down here unless you know who has a shed full and exactly what you want.
