We have doofus (doofi?), snipe, and nutria in excess in Louisiana. Open season always. Beware of alligators though, they are not endangered here and will fight you for a nutria. They are good to eat. (nutria and 'gator) .

My wife and I were thinking of visitng the Daytona Beach area in February. I hope there will not be panties in the streets then.

Bike week this year is February 27th through March 8th. Unless you want to participate, I'd avoid Daytona Beach then. Not because of the danger of slipping on discarded panties, but because lodging gets very expensive and hard to find. Many stay as far away as Orlando and ride the sixty or so miles each way.

I was there last year for the first time and we camped 20 or so miles away and had a very nice time. I only went into Sodom once. We mainly enjoyed the camping and warm weather riding. I was with guys who have been attending for years and they said that the crowd was much smaller than any year they could remember. There may have been one or two panties.

We were hoping to be in the area around the 4th as there is a shuttle launch scheduled and I have never seen it go up. There are not many launches left.

Reserve early. I recommend Cocoa Beach, closest to the launch pad. I saw STS88 go up. Four AM launch, cancelled once, we had to come back the next day at four AM. It was like watching the sun rise -- in the north. At four AM.

Our riding season is 12 months long; however yhe winter nights can get down into the 30's.
