Permission to board the mothership...

Post by karamazov2 »

Hey all!

After a 4 year hiatus from the model - see viewtopic.php?f=20&t=15031&p=133616#p133616 - I'm about to come back to the R1200R. I've been tooling around in the dirt on a G650x for the last few years, but I'm officially ready to come back to the fold, barring objections by Don (who I assume is still in charge around here.)

I'll be pulling the trigger on a R1200R Classic next weekend, if the weather stays nice. There will be picks, of course. Anyway, just wanted to re-introduce myself, and say "hullo." And I'm glad to see some familiar names still making the front page.

hello, congrats
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects handlebars to the saddle.

Welcome back Nathan!
That's quite a story of yours, glad you are now getting back in the saddle of a Roadster.

Nathan,

I'm really enjoying that aspect. It's nice to have the benefit of experience. Now I know the sport screen works better than the touring screen for me, and that the BMW tank bag takes in water like a sponge ;)

It's also nice not to have to replace the stock mirrors. And, while I loved my system cases on my previous R, I'm thinking about going with the Givi E35s this time. They really look like they were designed specifically for the bike.

Can't wait to get back on this bike...

Gee, what a beautiful ride.
And that Bell helmet matches the paint scheme perfectly!
Enjoy!

Thanks!

I actually bought the helmet first (two of them, on sale - $80 each - quite a deal.) I was thinking since I had the helmets, I might as well find a bike to match.
