I'm sorry Chemari, but I do not have crash bars, and I do not know much about them, so I have no advice for you.

Apparently a mechanic told Chemari that his Hepco & Becker crash bars would transfer forces to the engine case, and maybe split it, and that he should remove them. Sounds like mechanic bull-dust to me. Does anyone out there with H&B crash bars have an informed opinion? Better yet, anyone speaking/writing Spanish?

I was not comfortable with my Hepco Becker crash bars for a couple of reasons. The dealer recomended them them but I did not like the protection they provided. I removed them, sold them and put on the set from Twisted Throttle. They use the same mounting locations, so other than protecting the cylinder heads better, I am not sure about more severe damage in a larger crash.

45 years riding experience says that the bike, case, frame, helmet and armor are.energy-absorbing disposable elements in a crash bad enough to bust a case. Engine guards are for driveways and a place to hide for a nanosecond before bailing out. Any bars are probably better than none.
