Fender for R1150R/R1200R

Post by Big Daddy Norton »

I have done a post search but I can't seem to find the info I'm looking for...

Does anyone know if I can swap a front fender from a R1200R to my R1150R?
Or will a R1150R Rockster be a more direct fit?

I'm just not that crazy about the beak look above the front tire on my 1150 and I like the look of the regular fender from a 1200/Rockster.

Thanks in advance to an answer!

... And I'm sure you saw this topic:

The image of rivi's R1150RS fender shows up via google search, but not within the board archives. IMHO, the RS fender (with accompanying side covers) is a really good look.

Ah, seems I saved an pic of rivi's Roadster:

IIRC, he covered the fork lowers with carbon fiber. Whatever, the RS fender would look great with silver forks.

<edit> re: Rockster fender, probably won't fit without modifications, since the fork tubes differ between R1150R Roadster and Rockster. Guessing the same problem would arise for R1200R fender.

A K 1200RS front fender looks nice on mine.

The one I have just bought has a non standard mudguard. No idea what it is from though. I am undecided whether I prefer this of the standard one to be honest :D

I like that one better...personally. Looks very nice. I also like the lower fork covers of the "RS" and think they would be a nice addition to my Roadster. {not easy to find though} & new $165 ea.Ouch! BTW..what kind / brand is that fender extender on the back side? That should keep the gunk off the engine.

I think it is a Pyramid plastics one. I have had them on several other bikes. The only take 10 minutes to fit.
