serious bonding with a mechanical entity
Been riding since i was 16 (now eligible for medicare, you do the math) Harleys, Nortons Royal Enfields, but Beemers since the 80's - bought a 2002 R1150R this spring and never bonded with a bike like this before - feels like it's conjoined with my DNA - and a stunning visual aspect, without all that fairing/plastic nonsense. I keep looking at all the ads on Craig's List and other places and have yet to see a bike I like the looks of more. Hope it's as dependable as it is purty, headed for Nova Scotia....

this one came with a Russell Day-Long seat - My wife was not necessarily a bike enthusiast, but after sitting up behind me for a spell, said - you should get this bike. Yes.

I just bought an 03, my first BMW, and I'm feeling the same way... never wanted to keep a bike spotless before, but it's so nice to ride I like it looking its best too. (I've put on 1000 of its 2200 miles in 3 weeks and can't ride it enough. Gotta get some trips in this summer!
