Replacement front rotors

Post by Steve in VT »

I know there's been a lot of discussion about brake shimmy, but has anyone had any experience with aftermarket replacement rotors? I believe TRW makes 3 versions for this bike, none of which appear to be stainless. Any comments?

I have an '07 with 10 k on it that has this front brake run-out and a very slight shimmy. At this point, it is only a minor annoyance. I was wondering if any riders have had the rotors turned by their dealers to correct this.

They will tell you nothing is wrong with the brakes. Pull the pads and clean them. then use a scotch brite pad on the rotors. this should improve the pulse problem. the rotors tend to get a slight uneven build up.over time and the scotch pad will remove this.

I like the EBC discs I fitted to my spare front wheel on my 2007 RT12, I run the HH EBC pads as well.

Looking at adding a 2007 12r to the stable next year so I can use my spare set of wheels with that as well.
