Tank wing installation with BMW Touring Shield
I bought a pair of tank wings from Aeroflow but, when installed, they contact the BMW Touring Shield when the handlebars are turned even a little bit. Appears the shield will have to be modified. Has anyone modified their BMW Touring Shield because of tank wing installation? Any pics?

I changed to a parabellum windshield for more coverage and the problem you are having.

I have done this - I have a photo but cant figure out how to post it.
I cut a couple of slots about 1 inch depth and 3/8 inch wide and rounded the corners to fit the screen - really trial and error
I am pleased with them. They work well in heavy traffic on freeways, and crosswinds. Stop head buffeting

I'm not sure by your reply whether you modified the windshield or the tank wings. Could you clarify? Any hopes of posting a pic?

Finally installed the tank wings. Found out that if you install them about a half inch back from the tip of the tank and rotated slightly toward the top of the tank the column lock still operates and the adhesive on the tank wings is pretty flush with the tank. Neither the tank wings nor the windshield need to be modified. Took a short ride on the freeway at 75-80 mph indicated. As expected, the wind blast to my chest was greatly reduced. I did not anticipate, but am quite pleased, that my head was in a very quiet pocket of air. Looks like the tank wings work as advertised. For the record I am 5'9" tall, weigh 170 pounds, have a 29-30 inch inseam and ride with a Wunderlich low seat.
