Looking for a black windscreen

Post by Remmnever »

Hello, new member here. Ive got a black 2002 r1150r. I have been searching for a black windscreen but it seems there aren't many around. I would really prefer a satin black screen instead of just a smoked screen. I was searching the internet and I found this picture which is exactly what I want. Anybody know the make and model of this wind screen? I am in the US so a US based company is preferred. Any help would be appreciated.

Could you just buy a clear screen and paint the 'inside' surface with gloss black paint? would give the same effect?
Non quod, sed quomodo.

That's what DJ did to his flyscreen.
You could try nationalcycle.com too. I think they used to have one there.

Thanks for the replies. I have read about some people using spray paint on the inside of their screen. I don't think I'm quite ready for that yet but I may try black plasti dip on the inside of it t l see how it looks. For those who don't know, plasti dip sprays on like spray paint but turns in to a rubbery plastic material when it dries. It can also be easily removed by peeling it off.

I was hoping to find a black wind screen but sounds like I might just have to go with a DIY method. I'll keep you guys posted.

I have painted several of my windscreens, works very well. IMOP plastic dip wouldn't be the way to go. with paint use one designed for plastic, available from an auto paint store.

I painted the inside of a flyscreen and it worked well. I used flat black though. And tape up the front but paint the sides. Without paint on the edges, light coming through the sides looked weird. There are some pictures somewhere on the board of my screen.

I searched a few pages of your posts but couldn't find it. Mind posting a picture? Did you paint the top also?

I've read a few posts and I think spray paint will be the way to go. I think ill tackle the project next weekend.

Thanks, I like the look of it. I bought some spray paint today. If the weather permits I plan to do it tomorrow.
