Idle loping 2004 rockster in colorado

Post by bubbac »

Hello
I am travelling through the west. since Coloradb my rockster has started "loping on one cylinder and idles from 1200 to almost stalling. Before I go to the dealer, all things being equal ......could it be bad gas?
No problem under power.
My concern is ......lots of camping gear, two up ......stalls at the light and this old cowboy is down.
Appreciate any short/long term solutions

My first guess would be the failure of one of the ignition "stick" coils. Sounds much like what mine did when one failed some years ago.

Copy that Tower worker, I will switch the coils and see what happens
It is a 2004 and is probably a good idea to renew them.
I will phone the nearest dealer and see to it
Thanks
