355mm paralever arm

Post by loris199 »

Well guys, i'm going through some changes to my bike.
One of these is the following: changed the paralever arm with a shorter one, pretty uncommon 355mm (for those who are not used to that, original one is 385; i was using the R1150GS one, 365mm, that raised the back and improves the handling).
Can't wait to test ride it

damn - that's seriously short!

have you take a photo with the suspension at full compression?
(to see what angle the final drive UJ will be working at).

I run an R1100GS length arm on mine - 365mm IIRC.

not yet, i will
i'm so curious about how this will go
as you probabily agree with me, the swap from 385 to 365 was one of the best mods i've done on my bike, and for sure the best in therms of money Vs benefits
got to put a spacer under the side stand cause it's getting really high :D
maybe i will need high heeled shoes

Yeah, I saw your pics on the Facebook Rockster group. So who makes the 355mm part?

Perhaps install the R1150 GS side stand? Have considered this myself when I installed the GS 365mm rod. But first I need to get the center stand modified for the suspension change: it's a nuisance to require wood blocks placed under the regular height center stand for rear wheel removal.

Yep Mark,I defenately have to fix the side stand issue cause now i installed the Laser manifolds again and so i removed the center stand
I will show you the garage stand i bought, that saves me from leaving the bike in the side (i NEVER live her in the side!) :D

If you haven't got the catalyser then you can add 'some' height to the side stand with the Touratech 'bigfoot' plate - I've added one to my bike (I park on fields and in woodland a lot) and although it's only a few mm it makes a difference.

The side stand 'foot' is large enough now to rattle against the side of the catalyser - doesn't bother me in practise but it's worth mentioning.
