Higher bars and cable routing.

Post by trickytree »

After a set of different bars for the Rockster, at the moment it's got the standard ones fitted to some pullback riser extension thingies. They look horrible and I don't like the looks of even the expensive options.....hence why I want to swap bars .
Ideally I'd like just a tad more hight on what I've got at present....I'm guessing there about 1" rise and 1-1/2 back...and I'm considering either GS bars or making/modifying something. With the extensions I'm using at present the cables and hydraulic lines run In front of the top yoke, looks to me if I move them behind the yoke I'll gain a bunch of length. There seems to be plenty of room between the yoke and tank, maybe it might need a cable guide fitting to the yoke to keep everything tidy. Anyone tried it? Are there any pitfalls I've not seen?

Someone here DOES have GS bars fitted to a Rockster, but I'm not sure if he still has it. : memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=21467

I installed the regular r1150r roadster bars, you might want to take a peek at that. Easy swap no problems at all.

I installed the SW_MOTECH riser barbacks on my Rockster. They gave me ~1" up and 1" back and there were no issues with the cables. Twisted Throttle has them for around $100.
