blowing fuse 5

Post by thejavelin »

04 r1150R with 11k miles
I am blowing fuse 5 and I found a melted wire by the starter. The wire was routed behind the starter, individually covered, and it is a brown 18ga wire with a light green stripe. I don't have a wiring diagram so I need some help figuring out where it goes and if it is related to my fuse issue.

Check out this video… somewhere past about 1/2 way, Chris explains the wires behind the starter. And you can find the wiring diagram in here: http://home.mindspring.com/~jabrooks/

good luck.

I traced it straight to the ECU. Replaced the ECU and it is back up and running. Thanks
