I also use autolite plugs for a couple reasons. 1) I have an 02 that surges and these mostly take care of that. 2) Because of the surge I replace plugs at the same time as oil and these are cheap plugs. Replacing the plugs often helps the surge more than the brand of plug...

As for mileage I usually get 32-33 and am happy when I get 36-37. The worst I've gotten was 26 out on the track. I do ride faster than most but the mid 40s is out of reach no matter what i do.

I should mention that I am in CA with the crap CA gas and get an instant 10-15% better mileage when I go out of state.

Hey Al-traveling, sorry for delay. First off, here in US they are a common and inexpensive plug - maybe $2.30 apiece, US. Is it the money you are trying to save or do you have a condition you are trying to cure? I bought them to help to cure the surging issue and they have done a great job with that. My milage is average in low to mid 40's mpg-but I do like spirited riding. Not sure how this relates to your situation. More info please?

Just back from a 5 day trip to AR to visit family for thanksgiving. 3100 miles and averaged about 45 mpg. A lot of fast running on the slab. Temps from the lows in the 20s' to as high as 80 across the Mojave. Used the cheap gas and didn't have to add any oil. Used up about 1/3 of a new 009 shinko raven.
Now up to 244K miles.
What a superb moto, it just works!!
I guess when its time for a major overhaul I will just top it and keep going. About time to have the Ohlin's refreshed (for spring) at about 25K since the last time.
Cheers,
:-)

Not sure. I cannot speculate without more knowledge on the bike. I'd give it a try and see.
