Sad news to report

Post by touchton »

I received an email this morning informing me that one of our fellow members died in an accident last night. Scott Thompson, known here as 'Yahoo-Boy', had won a Rockster, had some service issues with it, had some issues with a BMW service department, but all was eventually corrected.

I only met Scott once. We worked a little on his Rockster, went for a short ride, and spent a few hours talking motorcycles and such. I found him to be a very energetic and bright young man. We had plans to get together again on Labor Day to have a mini 'tech session' as he was very eager to learn to do some of the maintenance on his bike.

I don’t know any of the details of his accident. Don't know if it was motorcycle related or not. I'll be sure to pass along any information I hear.

You ought to post this on the Rockster board too... I rarely come over to the Beakster section, myself.

This is truly bad news... let us know if you get any details.

When I click open R1150R.org, and am greeted by sad news like this.......

it's rather sobering, sad, and all the more reason to march through the rest of the day with just THAT much more zest and appreciation for the short time we're given to live.

My thoughts out to ya "Yahoo Boy", and condolences to yer loved ones.

Very sad indeed...was it him that also bought a Buell and later regretted it and was trying to sell it?

Thanks for letting us know...I've been hoping that we never get a post like this here...ever......bugger!

Oh no....

Scott wrote with such zeal and enthusiasm on this board. I regret never having had the chance to meet him.

How very sad for something to happen to another friend of the group...

Truly sad news. My condolences to his family and friends. We will miss him on this board, but they must deal with a massive hole in their lives. A terrible loss to be sure.

here and gone

I think this is his last post here. We go along our lives like there's always tomorrow, but sooner or later there isn't. It sucks so bad when we go too soon.

I'm in the habit of pressing the cancel button manually, even when I haven't turned on the signal in the first place! I guess I'm a little paranoid about blinking my way down the road, so I just tap the cancel button periodically...I know, I know...just a bit of my OCD kicking in!

Like losing a member of the family. If nothing else, Yahoo Boy was *PASSIONATE*! Had to like the guy...
