We had 8 or 9 inches last Friday, and it has stayed cold enough that the snow has not melted. That is really unusual for early December in NJ. Also, it drifted in places, so the roads are mostly clear, but occasionally you go around an off ramp and hit a patch of ice or compacted snow.

What I am trying to say is that the weather really sucks for motorcycle riding. It was 10 degrees this morning! This is December 13th! The last time I rode was December 1st.

so much for global warming.

I was in New Jersey last weekend - yeah, lots of snow left. I *did* however, see a Harley riding around. Highs were in the low 30's.

Chains are rough enough on cage tires - I'd hate to see what it will do to a bike tire!

It does start the imagination going, though, doesn't it?

JC: you are so right about Alabama looking better and better. Formerly from New Orleans and Mobile, now way North of Boston, snowed last Friday and more this Friday. Sucks, sucks, sucks.

I am not a complainer, but this weather is awful. I live in NJ, not Buffalo, NY. We have already had over 12" of snow so far this month.

Now we are supposed to get this (from the Nat'l Weather Service)
Unfortunately... with so much cold air
locked into the area... a prolonged period of frozen precipitation
resulting in significant ice accumulations across the region is
possible tonight. 1 to 3 inches of snow is expected... along with
more than a quarter inch of ice accumulation on exposed surfaces.
The fact that most of this precipitation is expected to fall at
night over locations where there is still a deep snow cover raises
the concern for a prolonged period of freezing rain.
Where's that global warming they keep talking about? I was hoping that NJ would get South Carolina's climate soon, without the hurricanes.

No snow, (well a touch) but we have ice!

I don't think those chains would clear my swingarm!

I'll just take the Subaru when it snows.
