Rockster Valve Cover Paint

Post by grt1500 »

I need to touch-up some scratches on my valve covers. Does anyone know where I can get a match for the blue gray paint ?

My bike tipped over the first week I got it at the garage at work. I never got the right color match, and I finally gave up. Hopefully somone will chime in w/ the correct color.

Bill,

Damage to the valve covers is a common issue with the flat twins (for obvious reason). I wonder why BMW doesn't supply cover protectors as standard equipment.

On some models they have been, particuly the GS. However they are avalible as an option on all the models.

Welllllllll.....I'll tell ya what I did... :P

I personally didn't like the blue...and really wish I had the skills to take the bike apart and get rid of the blue frame all together, but I did black out my valve covers using P-J1 Satin Black Case paint from my dealership.

Turned out pretty good me thinks.

Here's a piccy Image

Very nice. I have been debating on blacking mine out totally for some time now...but I bought it cause I liked the way it looks. I am gonna give it some time before I commit to losing all of the orange.

I really like just the black valve covers though. A lot. Now, if mine didnt have a flat spot ground into the right cover...
