How to sell a Rockster

Post by meistre »

Well, I'm selling out. Bought a new (almost) 325CIC and I'm going to pass the Ed. 80 on to some lucky buyer.

Question: should I try and sell the bike with all the accessories or should I separate them out (eg. system cases, windscreen, etc.)? Obviously, one approach would be much easier than the other but I'd like to get back as much of my Rockster investment as possible.

For sure I'll give you all first crack at it once I get it detailed and ready. Look for the post in the "Buy, Sell, and Trade" forum soon.

I advice that the bike magazine tells me is that a clean standard bike will always sell better than one with bit's added. Any extras should be removed and sold seperatly. This is most important with non standard parts like non legal exhurst, strange screens ect. But the system cases could always be used for a bit of bargining, as they are desirable. They say that you will get more for seperate parts than if they are on the bike.

However this does not apply to HD's which customers expect to be tarted up with every bit of tinsle in the catalog.

I'd try for selling it all together. Selling bits is just a PIA

Hey Meistre,

good luck selling the rock. I almost got an Ed. 80, but I settled for a slightly used lime green one. Now, delimed.

If you decide to sell the bits separately, put me down for the throttle meisters. Been looking for one for a while.
