New to the site

Post by ED80 »

Hi All

I posted my first comment on the K12R forum last night and I think I have the fever. There is just so much information I doubt I will ever have to ask my dealer again for info.

Anyways just thought I would say hello and to say what a great site. As you can see below I love everything BMW also you can see what the winter is like round our way so my riding is limited to a few months in the summer. Can't wait..................

Hi DJ, Both bikes belong to me. The ED80 was dealer stock that i bought new 10 months ago it has now done 800 miles. I already had my mind set on a K12R when i bought it. The dealer phoned three months ago to say they were selling their Demo K12R (ESA, ABS, Sports Wheels etc) which had 600 miles on it. It's now done 1200 miles. I spoke nicely to the wife who lovingly agreed i could have it on the proviso i sold a couple of old Ariels i had. She's a good girl...........

I must say i do prefer the K12R just for the grunt it's got, which is fearsome, but the ED80 is such a good looking bike and it is much more comfortable on long rides that i need them both. Thats my story to the wife.

Hi Rearro, it's a 2005 525 D M Sport. Not nearly as much fun as the bikes or the lawn mower for that matter.............

Coincidence - that's the same K1200R/Rockster combo that a guy in SoCal purchased: both new, at same time, same riding rationale (K for performance, R for touring and Edn.80 good looks). An unfortunate Hollywood traffic accident totalled the K-R, and the guy decided to sell the Rockster... to me! "Like new, low miles" sale in this case meant 512 on the odometer.

Hope you keep both your bikes for a long time!
