Thanks for posting those nice pics. Did you install the BarBacks to gain clearance for the GS Handguards to clear the Wings? Do you know if they'll hit the wings without BarBacks installed?
I have a Givi screen but slightly smaller - A146 I think. .
I can certainly see where the air can shoot in and up over the oil coolers but in your opinion will I see any benefit with this smaller screen? It is similar to yours but without the flair out over the handlebars I know thats probably just a best guess but your setup is the closest thing I have found.
I would like to give them a go - it all sounds logical.
I sent Airflow an email a week ago asking if they will post to me in Australia (and how much) but have not heard back from them - so this all may be achedemic anyway if they won't ship to Oz.

Martin,
I think you'll be amazed at the difference they make, even with your A146 screen, they really calm the air coming over the oil coolers. Don't expect your bike will suddenly morph into an RT, but you WILL find noticeably calmer air coming up over the tank. I hope you can convince Aeroflow to ship to you there in OZ.

Thanks for that feedback.
I received an email back from Aeroflow this morning (after a week) and they will ship to me for $35US so I have already ordered them. Thanks again.

Before I got the tank wings the helmet buffeting was almost unbearable especially on the interstate or a windy day. I was considering getting rid of the bike because I did not feel safe, after I got my tank wings all of that went away. I get plenty of air but the helmet buffeting is almost completely gone and the Roadster is here to stay.
I've been checking the flow over the heads with my outstretched hand while on the freeway. While I agree there is some...it's hard for me to tell where wind coming UP from the coolers ends, and coming STRAIGHT at the bike around the steering head starts.
However, it's obvious that several of you swear by them, and no one has sworn AT them in this thread. Looks like some more toys for the addiction are in order.
Unfortunately, they are not compatible with my OEM middle-sized screen and it's mounts. Both the edges of the screen and the lower support strut want to smack into it at steering lock. By that, I mean in order to lock the steering, not that I would ever turn the bars to that extreme in routine, say..parking lot speed, handling.
If there's something I'm missing here, please let me know. Other than cutting the wings, I don't see any way around this.
I noticed that when I added the handguards I could feel more air coming up at me from below the handlebars and above the tank. You block the air one way and it comes at you from another direction ... :: sigh ::
Actually that air was always there, I just didn't notice it before because it wasn't as isolated. I was looking at the Aeroflow site this week and noticed those wings before I saw this thread. I wonder if the wings will work to deflect that airflow? I don't think I need the bar backs ... if anyone has wings and handguards, post pics please!
I could not bet the hand guards to clear the tank wings and haven't gotten bar backs yet (Santa are you listening) so I have a nice new set of hand guards ready to install, eventually.
Yer wanted by the police and my wife thinks your dead.
Is it just me? I don't see the point of getting a naked bike and then putting all this ah....stuff on it to make it something else. I thought that's what the RT or some of the other models were best at. It kind of reminds me of the old street scramblers, that were neither best on the street or off road. Probably why I own 4 bikes, none of them modified. I certainly understand I'm in the minority here, and should just keep quiet, but I keep reading these kinds of post to get a better understanding and can not. Good luck with your modifications.

slowpoke - I kind of liken our obsession to take full advantage of our Roadsters' versatility as wanting a wife who is hot enough to be a model, yet cooks like Julia Childs, and bring home the bacon like a corporate executive. Oh yeah - all this while raising healthy, well adjusted kids while we spend time watching football and going fishin' on weekends

The trouble with buying an RT or LT or Gold Wing is that all the stuff is on there whether you want it or not. Part of the fun of the naked bike is that it gives you the opportunity to tweak it this way and that to your own fancy. With the bikes that already have a fairing, what are you gonna do except take stuff off?
I like customizing too so I can say this bike is uniquely mine. I like sticking it to the manufacturers by doing it cheaper than they did. And if I want to take it all off and go naked, I can do that too.
