Angeles Crest rider on wrong side

Post by socalrob »

Here is the exact rider I am afraid of when I ride up the crest.

I know this series of curves & they are pretty easy. If you video your ride I think you should be able to ride.

I hope he/she reflects on their stupidity.

What kind of moron would post a videotape of him or her riding like crap?

I would have deleted that video if it were me and hide my shame.

I was thinking the same thing. Gotta assume his room mate or GF posted it without permission.

Look closely at the vid, he touches 100mph before braking, but by the time he is crossing the double yellow only looks to be in the 50's. That curve is easy at well above that, all he has to do is lean. I guess he did manage to miss the cars though.

People are so exhibitionist these days that it doesn't matter how embarassing the act is. They'll put it up for the world to see. Imagine cops in the area coming across this vid. The number of patrol cars on the ACH just doubled.

Mebbe he posted it to show how "brilliant" he was at missing the Explorer... ?

Jeepers... I almost peed my pants watching the video... I can't imagine being either the rider, or the drivers of the cars he nearly collided with...

I like the poster Ves!

MAN!!!!

I consider myself a rider of limited experience/ability but I think I could have made that curve at that speed. His lean angle was certainly not extreme.

But, absent his apparent luck, I doubt if I could have missed the cars/stayed upight on the shoulder.

AND I sure as shootin' could NOT have continued without a break until my heart rate returned to normal.
