Grand Manan Island, New Brunswick, Canada (No motorcycles...

Post by toner87 »

Though I grew up in Rochester, NY, I spent most summers on a Canadian island off the coast of Maine. The island's called Grand Manan and it's located in New Brunswick, in the Bay of Fundy. Recently I saw a YouTube video of Grand Manan and I thought to myself, heck, I could do way better than that...

I threw this video/slideshow together using Roxio Media Creator and a bunch of pictures that I took with my Nikon 990 on trips in 2003 and 2004. It's all scenery shots, no people. Music by Bela Fleck and Bruce Hornsby. I know, the final credit says Brahms... I was too tired to fix it... ;-) Someday I will ride my Rockster there... Or maybe it'll be a different bike.... Who knows?

Hope you enjoy the video...

I hope to visit Grand Manan this coming summer
It should be a nice ride as I reside only a few hours away
I remember working a summer job in the area (Deer Island)
and couldn't get over going uphill in water (in a 16 foot aluminum boat) when the incoming tide flooded between the small islands
It sure is a nice place in the summertime!

Your pictures brought back fond memories- thanks!

Thanks, DJ! Can you see why it's one of my favorite places in the world? One thing, though, I didn't include any pictures of the FOG that can settle on the island like thick gray, wet cotton... I've been up there for two solid weeks of fog! Still love it, though...
