R1200R gearing

Post by ranmar850 »

Could one of you blokes surfing the new wave of BMW out there ahead of the rest of us give me the RPM vs speed for the 1200R; ie, rpm at 120km/75mph, , 130/85, etc. And do they have optional 6th gear ratios as the 1150R did?

I haven't been on mine since the question was posted but as I recall when I first bought the bike and was breaking it in and could only go 4000 RPM it was right around 74 mph .

Do you think the speedo is more accurate than the R1150R? my 02 reads 80mph at 4000rpm but the roadsters speedo is about 5% optimistic.

It might also be that the MPH per RPM increases as the bike breaks in and "loosens up".
I just made that up.
