BMW tool # 33 1 700 seal retainer tool
Anybody made something else work? I am experiencing some seeping at the rear bellows. I anticipate a final drive removal. I was hoping I could replace the seal Myself. 2004 R1150R 26k mi. Dealer say's it takes a special tool, has anyone done this without it?

Rear oil seal

I allso had this very slight leak on my 02 1150r,and was told by my dealer ( who is very reputable) that I am waisting my time putting a new seal in as it will :he said MIST again: he says that all the rear oil seals do the same . I was told to take off the plastic tie raps and put on s/steel jubalee clips which you can seal better on the bellows.
I cleaned my bellows out 2k miles ago and replaced the plastic tie raps with the s/steel ones (the ones that have the screw thread) and I have not seen any more oil drips.
My BMW dealer (Rainbow BMW at Rtherham ) said that if I opened the bellows once every service and cleaned them out ther will be no problem.
Now then what do you think to that????????
