Zach exhaust

Post by shake1150 »

hi guys,
getting my new 2006 1150 roadster this week... deep blue metallic....

i was wondering about exhausts... i searched for "zach" and found nothing in the forums... does anyone have one of these?

http://www.boxer-design.de/en/Zachauspuffeer1150r.htm

its the one that has a single can... not the one with two cans...

does anyone have a pic of their roadster (or rockster) with it installed?
how does it sound? does it need re-packing?

it looks "shorter" than the stock exhuast or a staintune...

any input would be appreciated!

Seems like alot of money for a can. Try Remus, @ Pipecity.com. I paid around $550 for a Y-pipe and a can. :D

I bought a Laser Hot Cam system with chip in 2002.I got it because I love the look of it,but it sounds great too.It gives the bike a little more power and I have never had any problems with it or the bike since I installed it.I still retain my centre stand and system cases, but have to remove pipe to change oil.
Like Ves suggested, try the tip replacement first to see if you like the sound. Some prefer stealth mode of the stock pipe.

thanks for your replies guys.

removing the can and using a chrome tip does not really appeal to me. it looks "chopped"... like something is missing... i'm sure it sounds great tho.

i'd like to keep the cat... less emissions after all... and we should all do our part for mother earth. so collector boxes & y-pipes are out.

i only want an exhaust can for a deeper tone. more bass... not necessarily louder. and to me, the zach and staintune both look like they came "stock" on the bike. the remus, two bros, laser and all those others look like they came from a japanese bike IMHO.

so between a zach and a staintune.... from i have heard about the staintune, its no contest. but has anyone here tried the zach? does anyone know if the zach need re-packing? if it does, then it's staintune.

thanks
