Virginia Riders

Post by alaskaflyer »

Just wondering how many R12 riders there are in Virginia? and where you are located and if you guys were interested in a ride or two throughout the year.

I'm located in Smithfield and I'm available most weekends.

I'm from near Dillwyn, if you could ever consider Dillwyn anywhere. If you look at a state map we are pretty much in the center. We (my wife and I) are pretty much up for a ride any time and there are certainly more than enough entertaining roads in the area.

I am up in Centreville. A bit out of the way. However, I am thinking of riding to Danville, to VIR, when a buddy goes there to race in a few months.

Just in case you're interested there are a bunch of us 1150r riders here in Va. We get together alot to ride and also do alot of camping with riding thrown in. Probably 4 to 5 of us get together at least once a month.

Alaskaflyer--

You're east of Richmond I guess? I'm in Staunton and another friend with whom I ride often is in Roanoke. Another fella near Amherst. We tend to ride the western part of the state along with WV. Might be a tad far for you to meet up but you'd be welcome any time. You might want to check out the group ride section of this board too. We have a group ride in May, probably 30 or so riders meeting in Pa. Another one in August to Hungry Mother State Park near Marion, Va.

I think Buckster lives in Richmond and Abreacames is in Va Beach, both members of this board--both riding 1150r's.

And I'm in Northern VA. Up for a ride, wishing I could do a daytrip but my schedule isn't allowing it for a few weeks. Anyone else in this area, our local club has frequent "Ride to Eat"s, you should join us.

I'm actually southeast of Richmond, basically you go across the James River Bridge and Smithfield is just up the road. I'll try to figure something out.

Ok, I've been lurkin' around readin' about this and even though I'm in North Dakota, I'm plannin' on headin' home this summer at least for a couple days. I'm from the Yorktown area and if you folks are plannin' a something, I'd like to meet the faces behind the avatars and great info.
Hopefully whatever you're plannin' will coincide with my trip, that is if you don't mind having a NoDak tag along...

If nothing gets planned, contact me when you get to Yorktown, I live 30 miles from there. My wife works at the Coast Guard Training Center there as well.
