BMW R1200R R1150R/T F800 K1200R R1100R/T R1250R RnineT Message Board

It seems that there are an inordinent amount of 2004 R1150 type bikes for sale. Why? Is there something fundamentally wrong with that year's models? I'm interested in all your replies!

I believe that most warranties have expired on the 2004 models so more riders are opting to sell and buy a new bike with no worries about major repairs.

I have an 04, it is almost paid off so I have looked around to see what is new. Nothing new stirs my soul so I'm keeping it. Only failure I have had was with those cheap plastic QD's. Lucky for me it broke while I was changing the fuel filter and I had metal replacements already on hand.

The way I look at it, you can pay for a bunch of repairs for what a new bike would cost, even with trade-in. This is especially true if you do most of your own work.
