so many 2004s

It seems that there are an inordinent amount of 2004 R1150 type bikes for sale. Why? Is there something fundamentally wrong with that year's models? I'm interested in all your replies!

The way I look at it, you can pay for a bunch of repairs for what a new bike would cost, even with trade-in.
