rerouting cables outside headlight bracket

Hello,
I might need to reroute the cables in order to install bar risers. Do you need to disconnect the cables to do this? If not, how hard is it to remove the headlight bracket? Do you need to remove the turn signal stalks.
It's hard for me to tell because the BMW wind screen brackets are obscuring my view and I don't want to remove the windscreen until I'm ready to install a new one and do the rest of the work.
Finally, is all this work pretty intuitive or do I need some kind of diagram to get me through?
I'm not a wrencher so my anxiety level is always pretty high when I contemplate projects like this. Heck, I don't even know if I need Torx bits to do this, or if it can be done with hex wrenches.

Typical bar raisers will not require re-routing the cables, hoses. Suggest cutting the nylon ties, specially those right under the light bucket on the right side, as you face the bike. There are some recent posts on the subject of nylon ties.....

I've already taken care of the ties, but am contemplating and Aeroflow wind screen, and if I use that plus my current risers/bar backs, it might be stretched pretty tight, thus my interest in potentially relocating the cables.

Not familiar with the Aeroflow install along with the bar risers, you'll have to wing it, good luck.

The MotoTech handlebar risers specifically recommend moving some of the cables outside of the headlight bracket. It isn't hard. I removed the windscreen and then the plastic covers over the sides of the big headlight brackets. Then just remove one or both headlight bolts, have someone hold the light, and move the cables. Then put it all back together again. When you take the bolts out of the sides of the light, pay attention to the orientation of the plastic washers, since they hold the headlight adjustment properly. I believe I only re-routed the throttle cable, but it's been many years and I sold that bike. ( Stupid me. Seller's remorse. )

I rerouted all the cables on both sides when I installed the Wunderlich touring bar. It was a neccessity because the bar is wider as well as deeper. Not a big deal, just nutting and bolting.

I have the Aeroflow fairing and when I originally had one barback on top of another, I still didn't have to reroute the cables. I then added Wunderlich bars and had to install a new brake hose but the other cables and clutch hose were still long enough, running inside the forks.
