Vista Cruise Throttle Lock Installed

Installed a Vista Cruise throttle lock (model MCVICY, which is for Yamaha motorcycles, see info http://www.soundoffrec.com/products/cruise.aspx) last weekend. This was fairly easy and only required a couple of small modifications. The throttle lock itself had to be widened a bit to fit without binding. I did this by sanding/grinding out the inner circumference of the lock using a small grinder (sanding by hand would work as well). I removed very little material. I also had to bend one of the mounting/retainer tabs that came with the throttle lock in order to use one of the screws on the R1100R throttle housing as a mount point.

Here you can see how I bent the retainer to utilize one of the screws in the R1100R throttle as a mount point.



To make room for the throttle lock, I had to pull the grip out by about 1/4 inch. This required me to use some washers as spacers on the bar end weight so that it was also moved outward by the same amount. Sorry, but I don't have a picture of that, but it's simple enough. Just use 3 or 4 small washers inside the bar end weight on the mounting bolt.

The throttle lock works very well and is easy to operate, even with gloves. It's also adjustable so I can dial in the amount of tension. Currently, when engaged it is tight enough to hold the throttle, but I can easily override it by manually twisting the throttle off if necessary.
