Dampening dial...

Post by ContraMoto »

The owners manual says to turn the rear dampening dial "in the direction of H or S...". Well...depends on whether "direction" is from the top or bottom of the dial...

Which is "higher" ... clockwise or counterclockwise?
Thnx.

It's not "higher" it's "harder".

And im pretty certain that it has an arrow on it. Have you tried looking at it?

Yes...harder/higher...softer/lower.

It has an arrow pointing left and right. But on a circular dial, which way is left and which way is right? Normally, you'd think top of the dial determines direction. But the H and S labels are at the bottom of the dial. It just strikes me as unecessarily obtuse, when they could just say "clockwise" and "counterclockwise" to make it clear.

The arrows point clockwise and anticlockwise

Turning the screw clockwise, which is equivalent to the bottom of the screw moving to the left makes the damping harder.
