Quick ESA question

Post by jed1 »

Gday everyone,

I have an 08 R1200R fitted with ESA. Does the ESA adjust the front and the rear suspension units, or does it adjust the rear only.

Many thanks,

Jed.

ESA adjusts both: three spring-preload stages and three damping characteristics. Damping can be adjusted under way. The bike has to be stopped to change preload.

Certainly on 2011 model, ESA adjusts damping at front and rear and can be done on the move. Spring preload only adjusts rear suspension(for luggage, pillion etc.) and only when machine is stationary with the engine running.
