Headlight dip question
As I live in the UK we drive/ride on the left side of the road (which is the right side btw
). When my 2011 r1200r is parked close to a wall with the light on the dip position, the beam is higher on the right. Normally in the UK the beam is higher on the left to illuminate the left side of the road. I am wondering if mine dazzles drivers approaching me, as a couple have flashed their lights at me as I imagine they think I am still on full beam.

Re: Headlight dip question
Don't know about the R1200R but Beemers in the late 80's had a different lens for the people that drive on the other side of the road. Last season this came up when someone noticed that the lens in his late 80s RT was different from the others. Closer inspection showed it was a drive on the left lens. The rider was the original owner and the machine was purchased in the state of New York, USA. Point is sometimes they get out of the factory with the wrong lens.
The R1200R as we know has a clear lens so the light pattern is a function of the reflector. The parts list does show a left and right reflector.

Re: Headlight dip question
Yes, there is a US and Euro version on the R1200R. My headlamp lens cracked and was replaced under warranty. After that I noticed drivers flashing their lights at me. I stopped and pointed it at a garage door and noticed the beam was higher on the left. It was replaced by the dealer with the correct headlamp(for my side of the pond). I'm guessing the purpose is to provide better illumination of road signs when using low beam.

That probably answers my question, I'll point it out at the first service. Thanksmogu83 wrote: The parts list does show a left and right reflector.
