90th Anniversery R1200R
This link was posted on Facebook. Has anyone heard if there is such a thing as a 2013 90th Anniversary R1200R?

I think this might be the same bike.

Hetman sent me this earlier today: http://www.asphaltandrubber.com/news/bm ... modelsort/
It reminded me of this: http://www.cycleworld.com/2012/07/06/sp ... r-concept/
In both cases, looks like no Telelever. Lame.

Re: 90th Anniversery R1200R
The bike in the YT "video" is basically just a blacked out R1200R with a commemorative plate on it - with Telelever intact. The illustration in the "announcement" looks pretty different from the usual front end - no Telelever, and radial brakes. Very much like the Lo Rider concept spy photos I linked to.NakedRider wrote:Two different bikes. Check out the rear end.jkhomes wrote:This link was posted on Facebook. It's pretty common for bikes to be shown without all the extra crap at the back (like the illustration) but there's no way that bike will be sold with that nice clean tail section. If that's the actual bike, it'll have a big ugly license plate hanger/blinker assembly hanging down.

That must be quite a show (EICMA) going on in Milan right now.
Motorrad is really on a roll these days. Lots of really cool stuff. Too late to cancel the order on my HP4, it should be here in a couple weeks. Looks like I will need to wait a year or two and purchase a used anniversary model R1200R. Best plan I can come up with at this point anyway...

Wouldn't it have made the anniversary model even more special if it had been fitted with the new 125bhp engine? I suppose they have to leave something to tease us with.

Re: 90th Anniversery R1200R
It would, but this is almost every vehicle manufacturer's trick to keep people buying models that are going to be replaced by something new.. try to make the old one "special" (the 1st and 2nd "Last Airhead" sales come to mind..)PhilSB wrote:Wouldn't it have made the anniversary model even more special if it had been fitted with the new 125bhp engine? It's pretty much SOP in the car/bike business.
