Throttlemeister install on R1150 R 2002

Post by rprothero »

I purchased a throttlemeister on Ebay that fits an 04 1150rt..I have an 02 R1150 R and from what i can see it should be compatible with my bike..Been doing some web scouring and getting mixed instructions on how to properly install these the handlebars..Has anyone done this on their bike? If so could you post some instructions or link to instructions that show how to properly install..Trying to avoid damaging the heated grips or killing myself on the freeway :shock:

thanks

There are two things to remmember when fitting a throttlemeiseter;
1 If your bike has heated grips , they will expanded when on so the throttlemeister will become tighter (adjust when hot)
2 Getting to the screw which clamps the switch assembly involes removing the mirror, and the front cover of the switch (there is a small screw behind the mirror stalk and more on the bottom of the cover).
You may want to mount the throttlemeister beforehand and measure the amount of "projection" with the grips hot and cold to determine how much the switch assembly will need to be moved.
