My new Aeroflow touring fairing is terrific

Post by morrie »

I have tried three other fairings/screens and none compare to this one. The air around it is silky and I find myself riding faster than I usually do because it is so smooth. Bob Poneleit at Hap’s Cycle rode it and said it was the best fork-mounted fairing he has ever seen. Other guys at the shop said it looked really good on the bike.

I took it for a 200-mile test ride yesterday and it performed beautifully. I have the standard height but I’m going to switch to the tall screen because the air hits right at my face guard, instead of going over my helmet. There is virtually no buffeting, and when I go to the bigger screen I’m sure I’ll be riding in even quieter air.

It was easy to install, unless you count the time struggling with the bolts under the triple clamp. Quality is excellent and instructions are detailed and easy to follow. I wouldn’t hesitate to go cross country with the roadster now.

That was my experience with their Sport half-fairing for the R...excellent air. Even better if you get their wing guards...those are the spoilers that Velcro onto the oil cooler covers.

I saw one go for $110 on ebay with wings. I tried to place a last second bid but the Comcast connection was giving me a problem and I missed out. No telling how high I would have had to bid to get it. I console myself with the fact that it would have made my R1150R look like a H-D. sic
What could be better than going on 60 yo on a BMW R1150R going on 60 mph? OK lets not get into that

Aeroflow fairing

I'll try to send some pics but I haven't been able to do so to this board in the past.

It's similar to the one on the CL that DJ Downunder sent, but I think the mounting brackets are a little different on the R. Mine has the smoke-color lower section and I think that looks better on my red bike which has smoke tank wings as well. Those tank wings are a revolutionary improvement to the beakster. It definitely does NOT look like a Harley screen, and I don't think pictures do it justice. It has multiple compound curves that don't show in a two-dimensional setting. It went over very well with the guys at Hap's.

Jim, I'm not sure if we have met. I'm in Sarasota in the winters but don't ride much in Florida. I gp to North Carolina or California and ride there all summer.

I don't believe we have met but if you would like to go riding sometime let me know. I have found a couple of roads that have some curves in east Sarasota. I would really like to see your bike with the Aeroflow screen. I have the same color and also have the smoke tank wings and you are correct they are my favorite add on.
