Will the R1200R look better or worse than the R1150R?

Impossible, the R1150R is a classic beauty, cannot do better!

Definitely better, more muscular, rugged, a new Teutonic beauty on the way!

R1200R vs. R1150R

Post by Ed K »

We all know the R1200R will be technically better than the R1150R...more power, lighter, less vibs, better trannie, etc.

BUT ...

...Will the R1200R look better than the R1150R?

I wonder if our R1150R's will be the last of the metal tank'd BMW's...I like that about our bikes.. :D ...I'm sure the new ones will be plastic.(on the outside)

Almost every day I get asked..'wow is that a new BMW..it looks so modern'..(it's almost 5 yrs old).. :P

I'd like a dollar for every time I think to myself "What a great bike"...I'd be rich..

There's something else about our R's that make them stand out in the BMW line. Besides the tank being metal, they don't have the ugly camel hump that all of the new BMW tanks have (even though some are not even tanks now).
Does'nt make sense to me how you move the tank to the rear of the bike like some of the new BMW's, and still end up with a huge hump in the tradition tank location.
I hope the tradition lines of a old style standard are not lost with the new R1200R, but I suspect they will be. If so I guess the R1150R will be to me what the old airheads are to those who just continue riding them rather than buying a new style BMW.
