Suzuki OK Monitor Saga

Post by LonestaRR »

A follow up on the OK Monitor search:

Background: http://r1150r.org/board/viewtopic.php?t=7509

After finally locating what must be the last remaining 1986 Suzuki Cavalcade OK Monitor in the universe, I ordered it.

After 20 emails back and forth, the seller finally shipped it to me
................ while I was in Alaska and it came demanding a signature for delivery!!!! :( AUGH!!! No one to sign for it....it doesn't get delivered!!

So.... after 6 more emails the seller and I got things back on track when I got home and I am now the happy interim owner of this priceless beauty:

Now the OK Monitor is off to Canada today to fulfill the wish of an elderly couple I met while there. Hopefully, it IS the right part and Cletus will be able to install it on his bike and take his wife on one last ride before she passes away from her lung disease.

A special "Thank You" to you guys who helped me figure out what it was, and then helped me locate and purchase it. I'll follow up when/if I hear about the installation and eventual ride of the Cavalcade. Thank you again.

Good to hear you got it at last, was wondering how you'd gotten on. Hope it all works out for them.

LS,

Kudos for your generous persistence. So, what did Chris win?

Actually, it ended up being a concerted effort of everyone's advice that finally led me to the part. The guy Chris told me about at Ebay did not have the part, but the lead helped me get more information. I ended up joining the SuzukiCalvacade.com site that JCsman suggested. After a while someone finally answered my request for the part. And it was NoRRmad's help that got me going in the right direction.

So what does everyone win? How about this: Everyone who helped wins the satisfaction of knowing they did something worth more than any effort we put into it!! And payback is coming when we need it most.
