Touch painting a helmet

Post by dsimon9 »

Hello:

Recently I purchased a helmet. As luck would have it, I nicked it after only a couple of weeks. Granted this might be a bit of a vanity thing (if the helmet was a couple of years old, I would not care), but does anybody know if it is ok to touch paint the helmet, to hide the nick, with paint used for plastic model cars? BTW, helmet is white.

Thanks in advance.

I painted several helmets in the past an I didn´t feel like not having a save helmet after that - a freind of mine, being a varnisher, is painting lots of helmets - no problems!

Go for it - AND PAINT IT BLACK!!!!

Why black? Paint that helmet bright white or red with bright flames so it might help you stand out in traffic when riding among the brain-dead motorists.

Black! Aaaarrrrgggh.
