any suggestions or help to remove it from the cat?

size 16mm (or is it 18mm) wrench.
(the connector for the cable is up under the tank though and you'll need to disconnect it.)

When I removed it I took off the cat. There was enough slack in the wire to spin the cat off the sender. Installed Two Brothers y pipe and spun yhe y pipe onto the sender.
