I never noticed how "R1150R" decal on the tank of my Rockster looked like "Rusor" until a friend pointed it out to me. I never liked the funky script that BMW used on the tank, and after that was pointed out to me, it really bugs me. I have even thought of removing the decals altogether.
I assume that this is what you are asking about? Look at the R1150R on the tank sometime and think "Rusor" when you see it.
I also remember seeing a BMW "Rusor" for sale on ebay once.

No matter where you go, there you are.

Jarrod. Certainly don't feel like an idiot. I could make an endless list of similar things which have happened to me. As you will probably have realised, there is no such thing on this board as a stupid question. It's only easy once you know the answer. With regard to the decals, it's amazing how our brains can immediately misinterpret something and not see what to others has been obvious - and I place myself in the first camp regarding the decals!
I'm with you on the Rockster. I love it - even the graphics on the tank.
Ride safely

This reminds me of the time I thought a pebble dropped into the cylinder of my ‘80 CB900F when I was changing spark plugs. I spent about 2 hours with my wifes vacuum trying to pull the rock out, followed by two days of pulling the motor apart only to find the pebble perched neatly on my bike stand.
I have been researching “RUSOR†for about 10 month now.

In Roman mythology, the goddess Rusina, also known as Rurina, was a protector of the fields or farmland, one of the ancient di indigetes. Her name is related to the Latin word rus, meaning "countryside", which is also the source of the word rural.
A related Roman deity, Rusor, was associatd with the goddess Tellus. Rusor may mean something like "ploughman".

A meter maid wrote a parking ticket for my "Russor", so I went to court and got the judge to agree that the ticket was invalid because not only the make of the bike was wrong BUT the license plate was wrong too. The idiot wrote down California instead of New Mexico.

I think that Rusor is German for Rockster. When I bought my R1150RA it was after test riding a Rockster and I thought that it was a fine bike. I liked the wide low handlebars and the power delivery and handling.

Had a similar thing when rebuilding my Yoshimura'd 500 Four (those were the days), with the last circlip. I'd stuffed the cylinders with rag as per regulations, only for the circlip to go ping and describe a graceful arc down the only gap, the camchain tunnel.jas wrote:This reminds me of the time I thought a pebble dropped into the cylinder of my ‘80 CB900F when I was changing spark plugs. Tip: try a long thin screwdriver or similar with a blob of sticky grease on the tip for recovering debris.
