Accessory Plug

Last night after a little ride I decided to see what I could do with my new BMW style female accessory plug and Moto Techniques mounting bracket.

If you go to Eurotech Motorsports site and look up their electrical accessories you will find these two products right together giving you the impression that they will work together. http://www.eurotechmotorsports.com/form ... _brand=all

They don't. The opening in the bracket is much to large to fit the female plug. Maybe it can be used as a beer bottle opener. I can't see where or how it will mount on a bike anyway. They ARE made for the R1150R so maybe that is the difference.

I could find no use for the bracket so I began looking for another place to mount the female plug. The only place that looked acceptable was the factory bracket where the CAN'T BUS plug is mounted.

I didn't want to cut any wires (scaredy cat me ) so I unplugged the CAN'T BUS plug and removed it and then plugged it back in and wire tied it up to the frame where I could reach it and use it if I ever have a need for it. I don't know what this could be but I think I have got my bases covered. I then wired up my new long waited on female plug and placed it in the bracket where the old plug had been. The wires I ran to my Centech AP-1 fuse panel mounted under the seat which was already wired to the battery. With this fuse panel you have the choice of 20, 15 ,10,10,or 5 amp fuses to hook to. I picked the 20.

I had a male BMW plug on a battery charger so I hooked it up and am once again maintaining my battery the way it was meant to be done. I haven't removed the connector directly connected to my battery yet as I thought I might some day use it for an electric piece of clothing. I suppose I really should wire anything new to my fuse panel though.

I really need to wash the bike someday.
