Hand Grips - part number
I need to replace the rubber grips on my 2002 RR. Yes, they are heated, but I have read through the board that just the rubber grip can be removed and replaced. Anyone have a part number for them? My clutch grip is worn down to the heater core

Adirondack Champlain Valley Sunday 11/08/2008
Looks like the last long day-ride of the season has passed. Sorry I didn't see any of my Beemer brethren today, but to all of my H-D, Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda and other two and three wheel fellow riders I did see, thank you for the waves/ salutes/ light flashes/and cheers. Life has been beating me down...

Re: Brake line question
Thanks for the replies all. They always seemed to be plain old rubber to me. They don't have any cracks in them and the brakes get flushed at the start of the season, so they should be fine. Since the bike is coming up on its seventh season I thought it would be a good idea to upgrade them, I rememb...

Brake line question
I have a '02 R1150R and have a question about the brake lines. Are they SS braided or not? I was contemplating changing the brake lines when I take the bike out of storage, and when I spoke to my shop, they said the bike already has SS brake lines, they are just coated with a plastic/rubber coating ...

Dual FIAMM Horn Setup - Pics?
Has anyone got pictures of a set of dual FIAMM horns on there R1150R? I have a set I want to put on, but want to see where they can go. Does not look like they would fit in the same area as the stock horn. Do I need to upgrade the wiring for them?

That rattle...
That rattle was vexing me for quite a while and it has finally been fixed! Have you taken a gander at the clock? I know it doesn't seem like the sound is coming from there but check to see if the mounting bolt/plate is loose on the backside. Be careful not to over tighten though. Put some blue locti...

50R Hack'd
Just a couple of weeks ago on the BMWMOA board a R with a Hannigan Sprint sidecar was offered for sale. It looked very nice, black with just a speedster screen. Seller was in Princeton, MA. It has since been sold/or been taken off the board. Was set up with electric lean and could be detached to rid...

Are you putting the gauges in the right place.
Are you sure you are putting the feeler gauges in the right place? I had a heck of a time till I figured out where to actually slip them in, what looks to be the obvious place is not.

Pinlock Rocks!
Use it with the Nolan 102 and it is fantastic! I could fog sunglasses in the Sahara with no helmet, but the Pinlock keeps my visor crystal clear down into the 20's ( F ). Swear by it.

Putting the bike up - tire question
Well, I threw in the towel today and put the bike up for the winter. It's going to be a rainy and cold week in the Green Mountain state and snow is on the way. One question about tires over the winter. Should I pump them up above the riding recommended to say 40+ psi? I keep hearing from old timers ...

Night work
I work a 12hr night too. The hours are goofy but the schedule is great. 3 days on / 3 days off / 4 days on / 4 days off , so every 2 weeks you work 7 days. Work Wed to Sat and one Sat night into Sun morning. Nice thing is that if you take vaction of a full 'week' you have 10 / 11 days off.

Mine comes from the right side...
MIXR, I hear this on the right side of the bike [ the side where the throttle is if you read one of my earlier posts :D ] Left side sounds fine. I am going to go for a ride tomorrow and see if it crops up again. I should get in two tanks of gas. That would put to rest the idea that it is pinging on ...

MIXR,
I did read it just after I posted this topic. If it is the cam chain tensioner, why does it not rattle when the bike is in neutral or clutch disengaged? Does it require a 'load' to make it rattle?

Somethings rattling...
I have noticed over the last few rides that there is a pronounced rattle around 4000 rpm when the bike is in gear. Seems to be on the right side of the bike. Not there at 3750 and below, not there at 4250 and above. It is more pronounced in gears one and two and is worse if cutting the throttle abov...

Throttle body sync question...I'm asking a stupid one here
I finally have worked up the initiative to sync my throttle bodies. Stupid question though, which is the right hand throttle body and which is the left hand? Is the right hand side on the side of the rear brake lever or the shift lever? Or, put dumber... am a looking into the head light or looking a...

Transmission and Final Drive Oil Change
I am going to change the oil in the transmission and the final drive. I was going to do the final drive last winter but put it off till spring. I had bought BMW 80-90 gear oil back then. Went to the dealer to get oil for the transmission this week, and he suggested BMW 75-145. Manual says 75-145 for...
